There's an article about the Londonderry family on Richard (Dick) Knight Williams website.

The Ireland'sEye.com site contains an extract about the Londonderry's Mount Stewart estate
from a book by Appletree Press titled: "Irish Country Houses."

"The Ladies of Londonderry" by Diane Urquhart examines the years from the beginning of the
nineteenth century to slightly later than the end of the first half of the twentieth century when the
leading Tory hostesses, the Marchionesses of Londonderry, were not only the patrons but also
confidantes to key political figures. Goto tinyurl.com/3tnvfg

The write up on the inner cover of "The Londonderrys", which was published by Hamish Hamilton
and written by Belfast born author, H. Montgomery Hyde, who was at one time the Ulster Unionist MP
for North Belfast, mentions that the family produced diplomatists, politicians, soldiers and statesmen
as well as eccentrics, horse breeders, racehorse owners and society leaders. Not only that but the
family had extensive coal owning interests.
