The Stand by Stephen King

Post by Rossco » Thu Oct 18, 2007 10:42 pm

The Stand takes place against an Apoplectic nightmare in which a super-flu called 'captain trips' kills most off the worlds population. leaving a handful of survivors who have to choose which side they are on. the good being a n old woman called Mother Abigail and the bad in Randall Flagg a.k.a. The Dark Man. It's a long book, around 1200 or so if i remember right but after a slowish start of around 50 pages the story really kicks in and it has an exciting hold from there on in. really might be worth a look what with the end of days coming soon and all (jokes......i hope) it is Kings best book by far and i've read most of his...he lost it after he got hit by that pokey van if you ask me :dd
Well you may throw your rock and hide your hand
Workin' in the dark against your fellow man
But as sure as God made black and white
What's down in the dark will be brought to the light
